Aurora’s team combines the skills and mindset to deliver on our offering. Our team has international experience building plants in Spain and California as well as an 18 month track record in South Africa where we have delivered work for major industrial clients.
In terms of the framework outlined in the Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (B-BBEE) Act 53 of 2003, and detailed in the B-BBEE Codes of Good Practice, published by General Notice 112 of 2007 in Gazette No 29617 on 9 Feb 2007, Aurora Power Solutions qualifies as an Exempt Micro Enterprises (EME) for purposes of B-BBEE.
Although we do not have to complete a B-BBEE scorecard, we are registered with DTI through their B-BBEE website (http://196.31.61.237/WebApp/website-validate-profile.aspx) which verifies and registers our business as a level four contributor. Our Unique reference number is BEE9980116.
Under the new codes, enterprises are obliged to spend 10% of their procurement on Qualifying Small Enterprises or Exempted Micro Enterprises in the first 5 years and thereafter 15% in order to get full marks for procurement!
As an Exempt Micro Enterprise we can help you reach full marks for procurement. Because Aurora Power Solutions is classified as a level four contributor for your procurement scorecard we are granted an automatic level 4 BEE status (65 points). This means if you spend R1,000 with a level 4 EME, you get to count R1,000 as BEE spend, meaning that you suffer no penalty when procuring with EME's such as Aurora Power Solutions.
