Simon oversees the strategic direction of the development and business activities of Aurora Power Solutions.
Prior to establishing Aurora Power Solutions in 2008, Simon was the Market Development Manager of SolFocus, headquartered in California, USA, where he managed the design, installation and project management of large scale PV systems both locally and in Spain.
Chris oversees the strategy, management and commercial aspects of both Aurora Power Solutions and SOLA Future Energy.
Aurora was a founding member of the South African Photovoltaics Industry association (SAPVIA) and Chris served as SAPVIA’s Chair and Spokesperson from 2011 to 2015. He now sits on the Management Committee. Chris has a research background focused on hardware and software integration for measurement and control systems, as well as statistical forecasting tools development.
Before becoming CEO of SOLA Future Energy, Aurora Power Solutions’ sister company, Dominic led the PV plant design, solar yield forecasting and grid connection processes at Aurora.
Dominic previously worked as a Project Engineer for Optimal Energy, an entirely South African designed- and built electric vehicle venture aiming to compete in international markets.
Bram Buijs is responsible for Aurora’s overall financial and business management and reports to Aurora’s board of directors.
He leads the Aurora team and directs the company’s business development within South Africa and abroad. Bram previously worked as Senior Manager at a renewable energy developer focused on small hydro, at McKinsey&Company as an Associate, and has further expertise in clean energy research in Asia.
Daniel oversees the financial close process of Aurora’s current projects and directly manages all technical, legal and regulatory aspects of the grid connections.
His previous work as a Project Assistant at Kerlin Environmental Technology Co. Ltd. involved investigating the Chinese market for Combined Heat and Power plants and Coal Bed Methane capture technologies.
Oliver Johnston manages all site-related aspects of Aurora’s project development as well as sourcing new commercial business opportunities for APS.
Oliver has significant experience in the full development cycle of solar PV projects, from feasibility work to EPC mobilization. Prior to joining Aurora, Oliver worked for DEME in Qatar as a Project Engineer on feasibility and costing analysis for water and energy generation projects. His research experience was focused on energy saving solutions for mines.
Marek Raciborski manages Aurora’s accounting, finance and tax activities and is responsible for the analysis and financial modelling of new business opportunities in the private sector.
Marek’s previous work includes roles at the International Finance Corporation and the UCT Graduate School of Business. His research on power generation investment in Africa provides a concrete background to spearhead Aurora’s advances across the continent.
Tseliso Mahao manages the spatial and environmental aspects of Aurora’s site investigation and project development.
Tseliso worked previously at Aqua Bella Holdings as a Junior Project Manager, responsible for due diligence and compliance of projects designated for the South African Renewable Energy Program. His experience includes several years as a GIS and data analyst for the Lesotho Department of Geological Survey.
